CIBioD operates in collaboration with premier medical institutes of the country i.e. PGIMER and other technical institutes like IIT, IIM, NIT, Panjab University, CSIO, TIET. It develops diverse projects, oriented towards providing quality problem-solving techniques for medical bottlenecks and the problems arising in the field of devices and instruments. The Center promotes interfacing of clinicians from PGIMER and domain experts from various research institutes and industries. The research is patent-oriented and focuses particularly on those fields in which Indian health industries are predominantly dependent on imports.We aim to create an ecosystem where the experts from premier research institutes in & around Chandigarh, collaborate with clinicians for the development of indigenous medical devices. We aim to incubate at least five projects per year in order to give a boost to the startup ecosystem. At present, clinicians and domain experts are working in isolation with little success in the field of medical device and instruments innovation. CIBioD creates a platform for the collaboration of clinicians and domain experts to share the idea and evolve innovative and patent-oriented research.
